Prolific in mobile masterpieces, the TellTale Games studio once again pleasantly surprised the gaming community at the stage of advertising “promotion” of its adventure project The Walking Dead: Season One . The video with the announcement played a sad story in front of the user, taking place in the setting of a global zombie apocalypse. When creating the novelty, the developers took comics from the popular American writer Robert Kirkman as a basis, economically dividing them into five full-fledged parts, each of which used new protagonists, changed landscapes and locations, key events and main tasks. In the game series, everything revolves around a certain Lee Everett – a professor at the University of Georgia, who was charged with the murder of his wife’s lover – an influential senator.
The The Walking Dead: Season One project, if you dig deeper, cannot be unambiguously attributed to a specific genre, we have a kind of “vinaigrette” – a horror adventure with RPG elements, intense QTE scenes, almost always deciding the fate of some or characters, and entertaining mini-games. According to the gameplay, users will have to personally write a story about the end of the world – gamers do not need to destroy crowds of the walking dead with headshots, because the protagonists are obviously weaker than their counterparts. The primary goal is to survive, trying not to lose your human nature in the conditions of hell. Players can interact with any surrounding objects, flee from large groups of zombies, destroy lone cadavers wandering around, interact with partners, in short, do everything
The control system in the adventure project The Walking Dead: Season One is thoughtful and simple – the joystick is responsible for moving the characters in space, and swipes and taps on the screen communicate between group members and manipulate objects. The main part of the playing time is the most fascinating dialogues (moreover, of a non-linear nature), which allow, depending on the answers, to “draw” your scenario for the development of the plot. By the way, it’s not at all necessary to be a good guy, you can also act as an unscrupulous villain who profits from the troubles of other people – kill whoever you want, steal food and weapons, steal the transport of other survivors, and so on. If you have watched The Walking Dead series, then this project is at least worth your attention!
