Gears: logic puzzles – an educational game for children: a simulator of physical and mechanical laws on the example of gears that transmit torque.
On the playing field there are gears of different colors and sizes. The player’s task is to connect the gears to each other in such a way as to transfer the torque from one gear to another. All gears on the playing field must participate in this mechanism.
Torque is transmitted from the green gears to the red gears. To connect the gears to each other, they can be moved around the playing field by an arbitrary amount – as much as it is necessary for the mechanism to work.
Features of the game:
- The puzzle contains 1,000 tasks, the collection of which is regularly updated. Moreover, the player can create puzzles himself and share them with friends on social networks.
- The game can be designed in one of four visual themes: metal, made, stone, plastic.
- The rotation of the gears is subject to the laws of physics: inertia, dynamics and conservation of energy.
- Passage of game levels has no time limit: play, save progress and continue playing when it suits you.
Notes:
- Gears move around the playing field with the help of fingers;
- Green gears – they set the whole mechanism in motion.
- Red gears – the torque from the green gears must be transferred to them.
- Blue gears – you need to spin them with your fingers.
- Rusty gears – they jam the mechanism.
- Gear racks – are obstacles that need to be pushed back or bypassed.
- Restricted zones – you cannot place gear centers in them.
- Gears succumb to the law of gravity – they fall down.
The game accurately simulates the following physical parameters:
- Torque;
- Angular speed of rotation;
- The ratio of the number of teeth to the wheel diameter.
