Moves – fitness application – tracking physical activity and user movement.
How does it work? The application reads data from sensors installed on the user’s smartphone – this is an accelerometer, magnetometer, barometer, pedometer, heart rate monitor, temperature sensor and GPS receiver. Using special algorithms, the application analyzes the collected user data; the algorithms take into account such parameters as the weight and age of the user, the tone and degree of physical activity of the latter. Based on the collected and processed data, the application informs the user about his physical activity for a fixed period of time (per day), and for a given period by himself user, (for example, one hour or two weeks).
The information is displayed on the screen in an extremely informative way – in the form of multi-colored circles, which, the higher the user’s physical activity, the larger their diameter:
- A green circle symbolizes walking;
- Purple – running;
- Blue – riding a bike.
Circles are interactive; by pressing and dragging one of the circles down, the screen displays detailed statistics about a given activity: mileage (cycling and running), calories burned, duration of physical activity and progress / regression of activity.
The application very precisely separates the user’s movement methods, for example, walking, running, cycling or comfortably in the car. The application also informs the user about the route of his movement, the route is displayed on the map.
Note: The Moves application runs in the background of other active applications installed on the user’s phone, but because of this, the application uses a lot of energy – up to 15%. To reduce power consumption, the application can be deactivated to turn it on only in the evening – even in this mode, the application is able to collect and analyze all the necessary information about the user’s physical activity over the past 24 hours.
