dfndr (from English defender – defender) is a security application designed to protect the phone from unauthorized activation of both the phone itself and applications installed on the phone. Google’s proprietary dfndr antivirus software also protects the phone from hacking, and from installing virus and spyware applications on your phone. The dfndr application has already been downloaded on more than 130 million smart devices running the Android operating system. The dfndr app received the highest rating from the AV-Test Institute.
What does dfndr do?
- Locks the phone screen and access to applications installed on the user’s phone. To block, you can use a password, pattern or fingerprints.
- Clears the permanent memory of the phone from temporary (cache) and corrupted files.
- Stops applications running in the background – this frees up the phone’s RAM and makes the phone more productive.
- Scans the phone’s file system for viruses, malware, spyware, and phishing programs.
(The latter is relevant for applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Chrome, SMS). Having detected virus files, dfndr automatically blocks their operation and asks the phone user for permission to remove malicious applications. dfndr can scan a phone in two modes: 1) fast (and therefore superficial), 2) full. The degree of security of personal, business and user data of the owner of a smart phone depends on the depth of scanning of the phone’s file system.
The dfndr application has a Premium version, access to which is unlocked on a non-paid basis. The first 7 days of the Premium version of dfndr can be used for free – this is a test period.
Additional Features Premium dfndr :
- Prevents the phone from unauthorized disabling the phone and app lock feature;
- CPU Cooler – cools the temperature of the phone’s processor;
- WiFi Checker – checks the speed of the Internet connection on the local network;
- Internet Assistant – tells the user what features of the application should be activated in order to secure the phone and make it more productive;
- Informs the user about email hacking attempts;
- If the phone is stolen, using dfndr the phone can be remotely locked, and in the event of an unauthorized attempt to unlock the phone, the front camera of the phone takes a picture of the intruder, and sends his photos to the user’s e-mail.
