Beat Cop is an adventure project imbued with cynicism, sarcasm and the atmosphere of the 80s of the last century, sending the user in the role of a former detective named Jack Kelly on the streets of New York. Why ex? Yes, because at the moment he is under investigation, he is suspected of murder, which Jack, of course, did not commit, but the evidence speaks against him. You have to help the main character to divert suspicion from himself by going on the trail of a real murderer, for which you need to go through a lot of non-linear quests, communicating with a variety of people along the way.
While the investigation is ongoing and the main character of the novelty Beat Cop has not been officially charged, he has been transferred to the patrol police unit, and the game starts from his first day at the new duty station. You, the tasks that Kelly should complete, are automatically entered in his notebook – just complete them step by step, not forgetting to carefully read through a large number of dialogues that will help you form an opinion about each new acquaintance, whether it be a colleague, a local merchant or a pastor from the church.
Taps are used to control the main character Beat Cop – click on any location zone and the hero will automatically go there (one tap – normal step, double tap – run). Graphically, the novelty from 11 bit studios is made in a rough pixel style, but everything looks very nice and lively. So, plunge headlong into the maelstrom of life of a huge city, with its luxurious skyscrapers and poor areas, law-abiding citizens and street gangs, betrayal and loyalty, greed and justice.
