Grand Mountain Adventure – a frosty day, a snow-white blanket of snow, steep slopes, breathtaking speed and a mass of objects (stones, trees, bushes) that an experienced athlete should go around while skiing down this pristine beauty. The difference between this simulator and its fellow tribesmen in the genre is the world open for exploration, as well as the developer’s choice of a bird’s-eye view of game events, which is quite unusual – the skier seems to be a small dot, regularly winding from side to side, obeying the gestures and instructions of the user.
All control of an extreme sports fan in Grand Mountain is carried out exclusively by taps, while in order for the skier to make another jerk, pushing off with sticks, the gamer should simultaneously put both fingers on the screen in its middle part. To perform a braking maneuver, you should do the same, but in the lower part of the screen, but turns from side to side are performed traditionally – in accordance with the taps on the selected half of the display. Perhaps, for some players, such a control system will not seem very convenient, but, despite this, you get used to it almost immediately.
The strongest point of Grand Mountain release is the excellent detailing and professional approach to everything related to the detailing of the environment, however, a similar positive feeling is also formed by the atmospheric musical composition. The novelty does not set any global goals for the gamer – go down the slope, choosing the route yourself, and regularly perform spectacular tricks. At this point, the game is still in beta testing, and considering that this is still an indie project, it is not known whether users are destined to wait for its official release. We hope it still happens!
