Somewhere is a captivating text detective story, the events of which unfold for the player in real time. In the interactive process of the game, the player helps the main character of this thriller named Kat to conduct a journalistic investigation. Which Kat herself can lead either to death or to the exposure of the heroes of her investigation – it depends on the player.
Your task is to help Kat expose the characters of her journalistic investigation. This means that in the quest format you have to lead Kat through a series of trials and through even more dangers, and you will need to do your job in such a way that, having completed your investigation, Kat remains alive. Your duty as a remote detective is also includes searching the internet for clues, arranging meetings and events for Kat, and using Google Maps to help Kat navigate in unfamiliar areas.
The algorithm of the game is that the player searches the Internet for the necessary information and, based on it, helps the main character to make one of several – the right choice. From this it follows that you constantly need to keep in mind one important circumstance: every choice and action you make in the future will entail an irreversible afterword for your ward named Kat.
One storyline of the game lasts for several days, during which you will use the messenger to correspond with your client Kat: she writes you messages in order to inform you about the problems that she has to solve, and you help Kat do it right.
The plot of the game has several options for development. Such a branching of one plot into so many scenarios gives the player the opportunity, having reached the end of one scenario, to return to the beginning of the game in order to make an alternative choice to the previous option and find out how the second, third or fourth scenarios of the game end.
