Dice Hunter: Dicemancer Quest is a role-playing project from the studio Greener Grass, all of which takes place in a step-by-step format in a magical world populated by amazing creatures and characters. The game rules are subject to the laws of stage-by-stage battles with enemy units, the strength of which only grows from level to level, and the number of active units invariably increases. Constant confrontation with insidious scouts and saboteurs, deadly traps and sudden attacks of aggressive monsters, and all actions fit compactly into a small space, divided equally between the user’s cards and the adherents of evil. Almost all successes on the battlefield depend on blind luck – a successful combination of dice rolls out, which means you can hope for an effective attack, or for receiving exclusive things, such as a sharp blade, a heavy staff or a strong magic shield.
Unfortunately, the game story is presented awkwardly and in fits and starts – the user is given dosed information about the Dice Hunter universe, and only the main motives of the character appear on the surface: to thoroughly explore the dark islands, and along the way collect a collection of ancient relics. Everything went according to plan until enemy troops loomed on the horizon – they wouldn’t allow them to just travel through their original territories. The main character can only rely on the skill of the user, who will competently combine the available combat potential and repel regular attacks from aggressors. It is convenient to monitor the completion of current tasks and the percentage of mission completion thanks to a friendly interface that constantly helps the gamer with text inserts and sets the player on the right path if the current situation becomes more complicated.
Nothing can be said unequivocally about the quality of this RPG project, since during the gameplay many controversial and incomprehensible points come to the surface – from the graphic design side, everything looks colorful and attractive: the main character is brutal and brave, and all kinds of monsters sometimes make you smile, and not what is expected feeling of disgust. But from the gameplay side, everything looks too monotonous and boring – the need to try your luck every now and then by throwing dice, a high barrier to entry due to the laziness of the authors to familiarize the user in detail with the key features and tactical tricks. We think, or rather we are 100% sure, that the role-playing Android puzzle Dice Hunter will be interesting only to true fans of the genre, other users will simply regret the free time to study the numerous subtleties and nuances.
