For many years, Gameloft has been a leader in creating entertaining gaming products for various platforms, leaving its mark in every genre. After release, almost instantly any product is marked as a “hit” and is snapped up by gamers like “hot cakes.” This time we’ll talk about the developer’s pompous release called Modern Combat 5: mobile FPS.
The scale of the new project is felt immediately after going to the main menu – a secret code flickers on the display, unlocking the gamer’s transition to information labeled “Top Secret”. We are not given any clear details of the narrative at the start; we only know that the odious commander of a technologically advanced terrorist organization planned to prepare and carry out a cyber attack on the security systems of several countries in the world.
Subsequently, as you move through the plot, many vile betrayals will be revealed, the truth will supplant slander, and the characters will more than once force you to change their attitude towards themselves, but that will come later, and for now you will be lurking in all corners like a blind kitten and trying to complete missions, doomed to failure in advance by insidious betrayal. The user will be introduced to the basics of the control system in Modern Combat 5 during the training mission; controlling the character is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance, although the controls cannot be called too comfortable.
The debut independent mission deliberately resembles the introduction to a computer game Call of Duty – the character swims underwater, the letters of the credits and the impressive scale of the scenery of a war-damaged building flash past, and only after that a powerful dose of adrenaline is given in the first battle with the enemy group . The creators were amazingly able to give unprecedented luxury to each individual mission – locations energetically changing each other, the need to constantly look for a new place of shelter, structures falling into fragments from powerful explosions, suffocating smog and open flames of conflagrations. And the user is not even given a little respite – the gameplay steadily plunges into the whirlpool of events, piling on more and more deadly tasks.
In Modern Combat 5, the authors decided to switch to a more modern engine, which immediately had a positive impact on the overall picture – literally a delight for the eye. Enemies react realistically to precise hits, and do not rush into the embrasure after a dozen bullet wounds, the open flame really burns, and the dense smoke does not allow you to catch the next target. All this once again proves that Gameloft is already stepping on the heels of modern game consoles, but in terms of graphics and controls, of course, not everything is so promising and rosy.
