The purpose of VoiceTra is to help its users communicate with native speakers at the everyday level other foreign languages.
VoiceTra – how does it work? The translator uses high-precision speech recognition technology, contextual interpretation of words (the problem being solved is related to idioms often used in colloquial speech) and speech synthesis – this technology is developed by the National Institute of Information and Communication Technology of Japan (NICT).
The application recognizes voice speech, translates the contextual meaning of words into the specified language and displays the result using a speech synthesizer. To translate from the list of languages, you need to select one pair of languages between which the translation will be carried out. The application interface is designed in such a way that it is easy for users to change the direction of the translation – this feature makes it possible for two people speaking different languages to use one application.
Conducted words are displayed not only by the speech synthesizer, but also in the form of text. Two texts: 1) author’s, which may contain grammatical errors, and 2) application-edited text.
Our translator’s vocabulary is ideal for use in situations that require communication while traveling – in transport, in shops, in hotels, while sightseeing, as well as in cases of car accidents, man-made disasters or natural disasters.
