Dragonstone: Kingdoms – a novelty from the studio Ember Entertainment equally favorably and equally appeals to several popular game formats at once – Tower Defense, RPG action and card strategy. As a result of this “incest”, a fascinating storyline saw the light of day, with increasing speed gaining momentum around a fierce conflict, the scene of which is a medieval empire, gradually withering and collapsing.
Only a competent strategist and a cunning diplomat can curb the chaos that is happening throughout the district, who in a single impulse will cooperate with combat potential, tactical tricks and loyalty to a single goal – its adherents will steadily and systematically move towards the final chords. But this is all in the future, but for now, before entering the battlefield, the gamer will have to understand all the nuances of the control system, and learn how to correctly and quickly place available units opposite enemy redoubts.
The types of battles in the Dragonstone: Kingdoms strategy constantly vary, depending on the level of difficulty, the class of the enemy and the number of his troops, as well as on the game mode selected by the user. As a rule, before the start of active hostilities, it will be necessary to form an army of allies, and then send them to the battlefield, trying to achieve an impeccable balance of “tanking” characters who take the maximum blow, as well as dexterous and virtuoso “damagers” capable of inflicting critical damage, both close and long range.
But manpower is not yet a guarantee of success, you will have to strengthen the units with all sorts of additional parameters – turrets, magical talents and new equipment. A curious feature of the project is the ability to tame a fire-breathing dragon or enlist the support of another mythical creature that is no less effective in fights, for example, a golem – but such an opportunity is not available at first, it has yet to come through a series of victories and the accumulation of a sufficient amount of virtual money.
The Dragonstone: Kingdoms project should appeal to fans of graphically impressive Android action games, spiced up a bit with RPG features and strategic moments. The graphics are colorful, the animation is smooth, the characters are original and diversified, the mechanics, although not new, are generally pleasant. One problem is that the experience accumulates for a long time and tediously, forcing the gamer to go through already completed missions several times and travel along and across already trampled down locations. But you can save yourself from all this tediousness through the donation system, because it is precisely for this purpose that it was introduced.
