Android 4.4 KitKat was released in 2013. This was a significant release that brought a number of improvements to the user interface and performance.
Main changes:
- Updated interface design – a more modern look for the desktop, folders, icons and widgets.
- Optimizing the use of RAM and increasing system speed. KitKat ran smoothly even on smartphones with 512 MB RAM.
- Security improvements and new functionality.

- Built-in Google Chrome browser.

Today KitKat is very outdated and not used. The latest versions of Android are vastly superior in every aspect.
