Fing is an application with which more than 35 million users have already learned:
- Which and how many devices are connected to a local digital network Wi-Fi and LAN.
- Whether unauthorized connections.
- The level of security and vulnerabilities in the local network.
- Internet traffic speed.
- Whether Netflix is buffering.
In its work, the application uses the following protocols: NetBiOS, UPnP, SNMP and Bonjour. The user receives all analytical and statistical information about the results of the application in the form of graphs that can be saved in order to compare with each other.
Application Fing as a scanner of a local digital network is designed to:
- detect devices connected to the network, identify them by name, IP and MAC address;
- measure and analyze the speed (download, reload and delay) of Internet traffic in terms of the declared characteristics declared by the provider;
- detecting unauthorized attempts to connect to the network, block such attempts at the stage of their connection;
- scan the ports of the system, and ping each device connected to the network individually.
The Fing application is free, but the application has a paid version of FingBox, in which the user gets access to advanced features:
- Remotely find out which of the authorized users of the local network is in active mode;
- Parental control function – with its help you can set the network access schedule for each device separately;
- Set the time of automatic testing of the local digital network for its bandwidth;
- In case of an attempt of third-party interference in the local network, the application immediately notifies the user about this by means of a message to the phone and e-mail.
