Arcade Game Room

Arcade Game Room is a collection of retro video games.

The first video games were developed all in the same genre – arcade, with rather primitive gameplay, minimalistic interface and pixel art. But these first video games were incredibly exciting, they gave an ordinary, backyard kid access to high technology – to a computer.

A bit of history. The first video game was created in 1948 by physicist Thomas Goldsmith and Estle Ray Mann – they created a radar simulator that detects airborne targets – missiles. The player’s task was to set the trajectory of the projectile in order to shoot down the missile on the fly. The following video games that have become legends are: Pong, Tetris, Tic-Tac-Toe, Chess, Nim, Racing, Karate.

As a rule, video games were created for scientists to solve some mathematical problem of a military nature. And although their gaming solutions did not always find practical application in war, the developments of scientists have always become video games in civilian life.
