Magical Record is a role-playing game based on the anime series Magical Girl Madoka Magica.
Plot. The civilization of Kyubeev is very concerned about the increasing entropy in the universe – chaos. This civilization has developed a technology with which the living emotions of people can be turned into energy in order to use the latter to set the universe a new order – its own. But such a transformation violates the basic law of the nature of things – this is the law of conservation of energy. Turning emotions into energy, over time, an even more destructive imbalance formed in the universe than entropy: technological energy far exceeded the energy of emotion necessary for the harmonious development of people. But the Kyubei civilization, which created the transformation technology, did not care much – they believed that people’s emotions are a by-product of their mental illness. Moreover, since prehistoric times, the Kyubei entered into contracts with terrestrial teenage girls in order for the latter to fight witches, who were a danger to people – by that they cursed people. In payment for such an agreement, the Kyubei were obliged to fulfill any one desire of the girls. For this, the girls received the magical ability to fight witches – to protect earthlings and thereby give people a feeling of happiness, and in return, the girls paid with an equal share of grief, from which they had to cleanse their “soul gems.” But since earthly girls felt more heroic, than happiness, then over time their “soul gems” were destroyed, and the magical girls became witches, and the Kyubei collected the energy released during this metamorphosis.
Gameplay. In the role of one of the girls who entered into an agreement with the Kyuubei, the player will have to assemble a team of five magical girls in order to explore the game world and fight with the Kyuubei, find and destroy their technology for turning emotions into energy.
