The backstory shows the reasons why the hero ended up in distress. During a transatlantic flight, a plane crash occurred, only the main character was lucky to survive.

We can say that he was really lucky – he ended up in the middle of the ocean on an impromptu raft, with a hook and a small supply of provisions for the first time. But the raft is small and unstable, and the strong waves of that will overturn it. There are a lot of debris and objects floating around, some of which can be useful, for example, with their help the character will create new tools.
