DarkLight – the application is designed to be used as a flashlight in low light to minimize damage to the eyes in the process of adapting from darkness to light. Everyone knows that a mobile device can be used quite freely and comfortably as a source of bright light using the built-in camera flash. But there is not always a need for intense lighting, and besides, it can negatively affect your vision – try this utility from the developer Petro Julkunen, which turns your smartphone screen into a dim red flashlight, adapting to current lighting conditions if necessary.

Using a special horizontal slider, you can swipe to adjust the brightness of the light from 0 to 100%, making it as comfortable as possible for your eyes. In addition to the main functionality, the program DarkLight informs the user (provided that his device has a light sensor), about the intensity of lighting – a separate window displays the current amount of “lux” ( ;international unit of measurement). We doubt the practical use of this information, but for some reason the developer decided to implement such a function.

It is also worth noting that the DarkLight application does not block phone calls, notifications and messages from instant messengers. Therefore, the developer strongly recommends the use of “flight mode” to avoid an unintended light-sensitive reaction when the screen is activated during a phone call or some message is received – it will be a shock to the eyes to suddenly go from almost complete darkness to bright light.
