Windy (a service also known as Windyty) is an unprecedentedly accurate mobile tool of the service of the same name, which, using animation, visualizes natural phenomena that shape weather conditions. Such a visual presentation of information contributes to maximum information content. This service is trusted by paragliders, fishermen, travelers, air pilots, official services of governments, the army, rescue services, agricultural companies and others.
How it works.
- Application Windy operates with information received from satellite and ground weather stations. Information is processed by several weather forecasting models: global scale – ECMWF and GFS; and local meaning – NEMS, AROME, ICON (for Europe), and NAM (for the USA).
- The application uses 40 criteria, information about which is verified every hour, every day and every week. This allows the service to predict the weather with an accuracy of an hour to 15 days in advance, as well as at 16 levels above the ground – from 0 to 13.5 kilometers. Such a deep analysis of weather conditions makes it possible to predict the weather in more than 50,000 airports in the world, and in more than 1,500 locations for paragliding.

With this application, you can also connect to webcams around the world. Maps can be displayed as topographic maps from Maps.cz or as satellite photos from the Here Maps service.
